“We Stand United In Grief”-Rector

The passing into eternal rest of some maritime personalities such as Otunba Kunle Folarin and Margret Orakwusi added to the transition of Engr. Olu Akinsoji, one time Sole Administrator of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, MAN, has again thrown management, staff and Cadets of the Institution into mourning.

In a condolence letter signed by the Rector of the Academy, Commodore Duja Emmanuel Effedua (Rtd), which was sighted by our reporter, the Rector expressed grief on behalf of the entire Academy Community over the loss noting that until his death, the deceased was a very dependable resource person to the Nigerian maritime industry and beyond.

Recounting the enduring moments  he spent with the deceased during his period as a member of the defunct MAN Interim Management Committee (IMC) and the  invaluable contributions  he (Akinsoji) made towards the development of the Academy during his tenure as the Administrator of the Academy, Effedua said “It is a testament, that we, as a community, stand united in grief yet cherishing the legacy he has left behind, from his days and times as the Academy’s Administrator and a member of the defunct Interim Management Committee (IMC)”

The Rector therefore urged members of the bereaved family to take solace in the fact that his positive imprints would forever be cherished and appreciated.

The deceased widow, Mrs. Akinsoji who was happy to receive a delegation of the Academy in her Abeokuta home, thanked the Rector for condoling and mourning with them during their period of grief.

She said that her late husband was a kind hearted, hardworking, caring and disciplined man who was passionate about his profession.

Mrs. Akinsoji thanked God for her husband’s life and prayed for the repose of his soul.
