MONEY:Like it or Not?

valentine heart shape made by dollars isolated

Money  is not the root of all evil but lack of it. The wretched of the earth are the poor. The irony of it all is that out of the poverty of the poor, the rich amass their wealth. You may think the rich should therefore respect the poor! And I say yes they do-through donations and other lifelines because if all the poor people die, the rich, if they do not die too, will become richless.

All the problems of the world are caused by poor people who want to become rich but don’t know how without causing trouble. They want the easy way out.

How many rich people are criminals? Pickpockets? burglars? Pilferers?  Well, maybe we should at this juncture categorize crime-for the rich and poor.

The rich loot, they don’t steal. They embezzle, they don’t pilfer. They are sophisticated and connected.  The poor in envy call them cabal or cartel. In prosecution they are persecuted. They seek and buy, nay, get asylum. What the rich can get away with, the poor dare not attempt.

Money is good. Seek it. Get it. Use it. They say with diligence, hard work, passion, enthusiasm, commitment and discipline wealth is sure. I agree but it’s a long, tortuous route through which only a very few what to travel.

Money brightens your looks. It brings sparkle to your eyes. It puts the bounce on your feet, power/authority to your voice. It transforms you from obscurity to popularity, From shame to fame, from low brow to high brow. Even if high blood pressure, hypertension comes with it don’t worry, you can pay to be treated.

Money will move you from ghetto to GRA, from trekking, riding, driving to flying. It can move you from roasting to frying/canning to un-canning. Even if you get cancer, fear not, with money so much is possible.

Money will carry you from anywhere to anywhere-see what you want to see, feel what you want to feel, sleep on what/where you like, eat what you like rather what you are served!

Are you poor and lonely? Seek money, when you find it, it will bring followers. They will seek you and if they find you they will beg for one thing or another. It is up to you to support or suppress, uplift or oppress.

Money will make you an instant success. You will become an actor rather than a spectator. They will clap when you stutter, fall when you stagger. They will pray and fast for you. Special sessions could be held for you because if money finish or anything happen to you and them no fit sign cheque/access money, wahala go dey!

If and when you get money you will be loved. Your colour and or height does not matter. Ask anklin/pawpaya. With money those who scorn you will come kowtowing and genuflecting, they will bow and tremble.

With money there is ability in disability. It will catapult you from low table to high table. It moves you from staring to become a star. Money gives access. With money the unavailable become available; the unreachable becomes reachable and seeable. Money breaks barriers.

With money there are neither restrictions nor limitations. It takes you from economy to 1st class. With money you can’t go to jail. If they manage to put you behind bars there would be protests. Your lawyers will get ejaculatory injections and pour out venom on your persecutors. Even in prison you will get VIP treatment. They will install air conditioners /generators for you while protests/agitations continue.

With money prison is fun. Without limitations and restriction you can contest and win! You can even go abroad from prison for treatment. Because the things that ail you are uncommon, you get uncommon treatment.

From grass to grace money takes you. Yes, you will grace occasions. Haven moved from spectatorship to stardom, you are the centre of attraction. You don’t have to say anything. Your presence is enough; they will clap, clap and clap.

Money brings titles, degrees and honours from far and near. Maidens come with it too. You acquire them as you wish, whether they are aged 8, 9 or 10 does not matter. It is you personal business. The law has boundaries.

With money you can create the contract, collect it, execute it (if you like)  and pay yourself-any amount you like, as many times as possible-with upward review after review.

With money you become the sole provider of essential commodities/services. You fix your price. With one license you can run as many businesses as you like-hospital, hospitality, transport, telecoms- lottery, pools, gamble/casino, entertainment, drama, and quiz. It all becomes an alluring potpourri, irresistible, the rich and poor come to you with cash.

With your money you can become an agent for change-for better or worse as it pleases you.  You are at liberty to become a tool for/against corruption. You can use your money to alleviate or elevate, reduce or spread poverty as it pleases you. Who dares question you? Where were they when you toiled for your money?

Footprints in the sands of time? Of course, footprint is footprint. Sadam Hussein, Mouman Gadaffi, Husni Mobarack, Ben Ali, Idi Amin, Chiefs Olabade Goge, Unlucky Igbenedin and many others have  their footprints and thumb prints in the till embedded in the sands of time.

Nelson Mandela, Muritala Mohammed, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Shehu Shagari, Lateef Jakande they have no private jets, universities nor libraries, no blind or open trust funds but their footprints in the sands of time will remain indelible.
