Customs Nab Smugglers with N4.6m poultry products

The Headquarters monitoring team of the Nigeria Customs Service, NSC, has nabbed unrepentant smugglers with foreign poultry products along Sagamu-Ijebuode expressway.
Commenting on the development, the Controller Federal Operations Unit Zone ‘A’ Ikeja, Deputy Comptroller Turaki Usman Adamu stated that a Headquarters Monitoring Team in charge of the Idiroko Axis led by Assistant Comptroller Yahaya Usman Biri, acting on a tip off, intercepted an Iveco truck with registration no: XA 831 GAR for checking but two of the occupants took to their heels. This confirmed the suspicion of the monitoring team; the truck was arrested and taken to the Government Warehouse at Ikeja where a thorough examination was conducted which revealed that 850 (eight hundred and fifty) cartons of assorted smuggled frozen poultry products was concealed with various electrical parts.
The seizure, according to the controller, FOU zone ” A”, is valued at N4.6m.
