Captain Warredi Enisuoh Resumes Duty at NIMASA?
Former Director, Shipping development at NIMASA, Captain Warredi Enisuoh, may have resumed duties at NIMASA even as his trial continues.
Charged alongside a former Director General of the Agency, Dr. Patrick Apkobolokemi and others, captain Enisuoh was spotted at NIMASA last week. Our findings revealed that though he was initially refused entry by security at NIMASA gate, he was eventually cleared from above.
Ezekiel Agaba, Ekene Nwakuche; Felix Bob-Nabena; Governor Juan; Ugo Frederick; Timi Alari are those undergoing trail alongside Akpobolokemi. Warred was said to have threatened to release a can of worms over what he and the other accused persons termed as selective arraignment.
In an internal memo issued on December 9, 2015, to each of the accused staff, the management of NIMASA stated “following the case of conspiracy, fraudulent conversion of funds and money laundering levelled against you by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and subsequent arraignment in court, you have been placed on interdiction with half pay pending the determination of the court case in line with extant rules.”
The memo equally directed the indicted staff to hand over all the Agency’s properties in their possessions to the Director, Administration and Personnel Services Department with immediate effect.
Has Warredi been acquitted? Has the charges filed against Warredi been dropped? What is he doing at NIMASA?
Insider sources hinted that technical operational hitches, and dwindling fortunes may have necessitated Warredi’s invitation or recall by management of NIMASA.
Effforts to get response to these questions from NIMASA remain futile. Our phone calls/text messages for clarification on this matter are yet to be responded to.
