Yuletide: Ali Hail Zone “A” Officers, Gets 14 Gbozas
The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, Col. Hameed Ali (rtd) has expressed satisfaction with officers and men of the Service on their efforts at revenue drive, enforcement and effective implementation of economic policies of the federal government on local and international trade.
Speaking through the Zonal Coordinator Zone “A”, Assistant Comptroller General of Customs, ACG, Eporwei Charles Edike in Lagos, Ali showered praises on Customs officers, who, notwithstanding the harsh economic realities, remain dogged, resilient and committed to national development.
From Command to Command, The ACG, took the message of the CG, telling all Customs officers to remain vigilant as the remaining few days of the year remain crucial and full of possibilities.
In his words “You have all done well and Customs management appreciate your efforts but it is not a time to relax. You can do better, you can do better, I say you can do better. There is always room for improvement. Do not lower your guard nor standards. Stand firm. Do not compromise. You must at all times put national interest first as you do your work and be at peace with your conscience.
From Tin Can 11 to Apapa Area Command, Kirikiri Lighter Terminal, Western Marine Command, Murtala Mohammed intn’l Airport and Federal Operations Unit, FOU, Ikeja, it was ovation after ovation for revenue generated thus far within Zone “A”
The ACG thanked the CG for the quality of officers posted to the zone; describing them as seasoned, experienced, tried and tested officers who know their onions as far as Customs work is concerned.
Charging them to do more the ACG said “We are where we are today because we have very experienced officers manning strategic and sensitive operational areas. All of us, by supporting, contributing and doing our work diligently have made it possible to be celebrating each other today. The CG is happy, the management board is happy but let us work and make them happier so that the confidence reposed in officers in Zone A will be justified”
While extending three happy cheers to each other, the zone “A” officers gave the CG fourteen Gbozas for his vision, wisdom and exemplary, purposeful leadership which has translated to visible results in the Service.
