The riffles impounded by Customs

Agile, vigilant officers and men of the Federal Operations Unit, FOU zone A, Ikeja Lagos have arrested a container released from the Apapa port Complex by Customs officers of the Apapa Area Command, lagos.

The 49 boxes containing 661 pieces of pump action rifles were found inside a container seized along Mile 2–Apapa road in Lagos by men of the FOU, Ikeja.

Customs Comptroller General had to fly in from Abuja to inspect and evaluate the seizure.

While some officers of the Apapa Area Command have been detained for their role in the release of the container, Customs say investigation are ongiong to unravel those behind the importation of such dangerous items
