Consultants Render NIMASA Staff Idle

Dakuku-chioma-andy

The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, may have lost confidence on the quality of work done by staffs of NIMASA which he met at the Agency on assumption of office over a year ago.

Dakuku’s lack of trust and faith in NIMASA staffs is incomparable with what obtains in other Agencies under the federal ministry of transport, FMOT, where CEOs work with and even consult staffs on operational/administrativeDakuku-chioma-andy issues.

All departments/units of NIMASA have been taken over by “consultants”. Whether these consultants are sent from above is a question maritime stakeholders are yet to ascertain.

What is certain however is that, most NIMASA staff have been incapacitated as their jobs have been given to consultants to handle.

These consultants we gather are now in charge of NIMASA operations. They dictate what has to be done, when and how.

A maritime stakeholder who spoke with us on this development said  “They say power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely, 2019 is around the corner, this is just the sign and  begining of things to come, watch out my brother”.
