FG Inaugurate Projects in Zamfara

The Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has inaugurated N5.9bn worth of projects in Zamfara State.
The projects inaugurated include Semi Urban water project and the upgraded General Hospitals in Gamji and Bakura towns, in Bakura local government area of the state.

Others were 12.8 km Talata-Mafara bye-pass road, Government Girls’ College, Talata-Mafara, and Abubakar Tunau Model Primary School in Talata-Mafara local government area.

Speaking while inaugurating the renovated Government College, Talata-Mafara, the Acting President commended Governor Abdul’aziz Yari for executing meaningful development projects in the state.

He said, “I am delighted to be in Zamfara today to inaugurate these projects, “Since 2016 every year I visit this state to inaugurate projects in the areas of Roads, Education, Health, Agriculture and Electrification sectors.
“I thank governor Abdul’aziz Yari and his team for a good administrative system that is working to improve the quality of lives of people at rural communities,” he said.

He, therefore, urged people of the state to take advantage of the projects and ensure their maintenance for future benefits.
He thanked the people of the state for their hospitality and solidarity to President Muhammadu Buhari led administration.
Earlier, Gov. Abdul’aziz Yari, had said that the 120-bed capacity upgraded general hospital Bakura, cost the state government over N463 million.

Yari said that the project was part of the various health care development projects across the state, adding that the state spent over N3.3 billion to renovate the selected general hospitals across the state.
“Recently, we recruited 100 doctors and 400 nurses into the state health sector aimed at improving the human resources in our hospitals.

“Gamji water works is one of the 168 semi-urban water projects executed across the state. A total of over N2.5 billion was expended on the project.

“In addition N114 million was expended on the reconstruction of the Abubakar Tunau Model Primary School project, while over N937 million was spent for the reconstruction of Government Girls’ College Talata-Mafara”, he said.
Chairman of the ceremony, Alhaji Lawal Liman, said that the projects inaugurated were among the 218 identified projects across the state executed by the present administration.
