Beat over 50 countries to be crowned Best Scrabble Nation in the world

Nigeria has been crowned as the best scrabble nation in the World English Language Scrabble Players Association Championship, WESPAC held in Goa India, from 17-19 October 2019, with over 350 players from 53 countries in attendance, Team Nigeria, made up of top rated scrabble playerin the country, against all odds, made Nigerians all over the world very proud with their sterling performance at the tournament.

Recall that Wellington Jighere,  a professional Nigerian scrabble player  won the inaugural WESPA Championship in 2015 to become the first African player to be crowned World Scrabble Champion. He defeated Lewis Mackay of Cambridge, England 448-426 in that epic game. The President Mohammadu Buhari hosted and congratulated him for the feat.

Scrabble, no doubt, is a great game of fun, fortune and fame that needs greater attention from government at all levels.
