There was  a small fire incident in a store

Nigeria’s former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo

Contrary to news making the rounds, it is only a small section of the Ogun State residence of former president Olusegun Obasanjo that caught fire yesterday evening, a state fire official said.

The fire incident at Obasanjo’s residence located at Ita-Eko area in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, occurred at about 9:30 pm.

According to the Ogun State director of fire service Fatai Adefala,  only a small section of the house caught fire.

“The fire only razed a store and not the main building in the former president’s compound,” Adefala said.

He said officials of the agency swiftly responded to distress calls about 10:00 pm and succeeded in putting out the fire
