Jamoh Takes Over at NIMASA
Promises to Hit the Ground Running
Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Dr. Bashir Yusuf Jamoh, has promised to hit the ground running and continue with the programmes and projects of the past Administration.
Speaking during the handover and take over ceremony at NIMASA corporate head office in Lagos, the new NIMASA DG assured of greater engagements with maritime stakeholders and collaboration with sister Agencies in the industry.
While thanking President Buhari for his appointment, he also thanked the minister of Transportation, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi for his support.
Dr. Jamoh equally thanked the minister of state, transportation, Senator Gbemi Saraki for her role.
He called on management and staff of the Federal Ministry of Transportation, FMOT, to join hands with him in the task of improving Nigeria’s Maritime industry.
The former Director General of NIMASA, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, in his hand over remarks reeled out achievements recorded under his administration.
He thanked President Buhari for the opportunity to serve and reiterated his resolve to serve the country in any capacity in the future.
Directors of NIMASA present at the handing over ceremony described Dakuku as a change agent who rebranded NIMASA and introduced several reforms which have impacted the Agency positively.
As Jamoh and his new management team settles down to work, stakeholders are hopeful that Jamoh will deploy his many years of interaction/engagements with stakeholders to bring about the elusive change in the industry.
