NIGER GOV GETS COVID19 VIRUS
Media reports have it that the
nor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello, has tested positive for COVID-19. The status of the governor, which was revealed by the Niger State Government on Monday on the governor’s verified Twitter handle, said the result of his latest test came back positive and he had consequently proceeded on self-isolation.
“I have tested positive for COVID-19. I am asymptomatic and generally okay but I am already self-isolating and receiving the best of care,” the governor said.
Mr Bello adds to the rank of the governors who have contracted the virus in the past such as governors Nasir El-rufai of Kaduna, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi and Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state-all of whom have contracted the virus since it broke late last year.
