The stage is set for a clash of Eagle at the ongoing Nations Cup in Cameroon as the Super Eagles of Nigeria take on the bald Carthage Eagles of Tunisia.

From the AFCON tournament thus far, based on quality of play and pedigree of players on both sides, the Super Eagles stands very tall, head and shoulders above the Tunisians.

From records, the Carthage Eagles have won just one of their last four games in all competitions (losing three) while Augustine Eguavoen Nigeria maintain a six-game unbeaten streak (five victories, one draw), having started the tournament with back-to-back wins.

From the latest FIFA ranking in December, Tunisia are 30th in the world and  fourth on the continent.
Nigeria – three-time African champions are ranked 36th on the global standings and fifth in Africa.

Nigeria has won 12 of their last 14 Africa Cup of Nations matches – with two defeats, including three in this year’s tournament so far. Also, they have not lost in the Round of 16 of the biennial African showpiece since it was increased to 24 teams in 2019.

This clash holds a lot to look forward to as there is no second chance for a loser as the tournament progresses.
