Hon Emmanuel Jime
ES/CEO, Shippers’ Council

Determined to improve port operations and service provided by the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, NSC, The Executive Secretary/CEO of the Council, Hon. Emmanuel Jime, has commended senior  staff of the Council for ensuring harmony between management and staff of the Council in their quest for greater port efficiency.

R/L: Mr. Kindsley Usoh (former ES/CEO of NSC, Mrs Victoria Okam, (representative of the ES/CEO, Hon. Emmanuel Jime and Abubakar Adamu-Biu (son of late Adamu Biu, former ES/CEO of the Council, at the event

Speaking during the 25th anniversary of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council Senior Staff Association, NSCSSA, the ES/CEO, represented by the Director Human Resources, Mrs. Victoria Okam, charged staffs of the Council to remain focused and committed to executing the mandate of the Council for the improvement of Nigeria’s maritime industry.

According to the ES, the 25th anniversary is a time to reappraise, re-strategize, look at where we were, where we are,  look at where we want to get to and project on how to get there.

In the ES/COE words “The Council and the Union are two sides of the same coin. Without the Council there is no Union and without the Union there cannot be a Shippers’ Council. We recognize that there are enormous possibilities when there is industrial peace between management and staff of any agency and the NSC is fully committed to sustaining those peaceful coexistence mechanisms”.

“On this 25th anniversary occasion, we have also decided to recognize and honour our former and serving CEOs and top management staff as well for their efforts in strengthening the Council and keeping it together”

Mr. Kinsley Usoh, a former ES/CEO of the Council was full of praise for management and staff of the Council for their doggedness for sustaining and  bringing the Council to where it is at the moment.

Usoh reiterated that the Council is a research institution and not for award of contracts to contractors.

He thanked management and staff of the Council for recognizing his efforts and for honouring him and other former CEOs.

Immediate past ES/CEO of the Council Barrister Hassan Bello, Chief Adebayo Sarumi, Grace Obiozor, Late Alh, Adamu Isa Biu were among those honoured with the Life Time Achievement Awards while serving senior staff-Director and Unionists were also honoured.
