As Customer Care Policy Handbook is Launched

In a bid to boost effective service delivery, the Servicom Unit of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), on Wednesday 30th March, 2022 launched the agency’s Service Charter and Customer Care Policy Handbook in Lagos.

The Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Council, Hon. Emmanuel Jime, who was represented at the event by the Director, Regulatory Services Department of the Council, Ms Ifeoma Ezedinma,  said it is when people are aware of what they should expect in terms of obligation and services that they could measure performance.

L/R: Mrs. Ngozi Akinbodewa, Servicom Team Leeder Group B, Presidency, Dr. Nnenna Akajemeli, National Coordinator/CEO Servicom Presidency, Mrs. Osho Olufunke, Rep. Director Human Resources, Federal Ministry of Transportation and Ms. Ifeoma Ezedinma, Director Regulatory Services, Nigerian Shippers’ Council, unveiling the Nigerian Shippers’ Council Service Charter and Customer care Policy Handbook

She commended Servicom Unit for the concerted effort the staff put into ensuring good service delivery to the Council and its stakeholders adding that the newly-launched Service Charter would further enhance service delivery.

The National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of Servicom at the  Presidency, Dr. Nnena Akajemeli commended past and present nodal officers of the NSC for the publication of the Service Charter and Customer Care Policy Handbook.

Dr. Akajemeli called for wider publicity of the Service Charter and Customer Care Policy Handbook on NSC’s platforms and as well as sensitization of the personnel of Servicom on their roles and responsibilities towards the implementation of the Charter.

According to her, the encomiums by stakeholders in the maritime sector about the activities of NSC was a testimony to the fact that the agency is doing well in the areas of service delivery.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Hallmark Investment, Alhaji Nofiu Inaolaji, a freight forwarder, lauded the Council’s activities as Port Economic Regulator.

Alhaji Inaolaji said that the Council has been critical to their success as freight forwarders operating at the ports.

He said, “I have been with Shippers’ Council for the past twenty years. I am always impressed with the way and manner that the staff carry out their assignments. They are dedicated, focused and up to the task. I have seen this in several meetings we had with the Council. In fact, It is only NSC that puts us on our toes when it comes to issues”.

The Director, Human Resources Management Department of the Council, Mrs. Adaku Okam, disclosed that the launching of the Service Charter was a step in the right direction.
