Industrial Harmony: LNLG, MWUN Synergize

Agree on Prioritizing Workers’ Welfare

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has  played host to the Managing Director/CEO of Nigeria LNG Ship Management Limited, with his team of two management officials who were guests to the President-General of the Union, Comrade (Prince) Adewale Adeyanju.

In a press release signed and made available by the Media Head of the Union, John Kennedy. The visit which was a courtesy call is aimed at congratulating Comrade Adeyanju, who was recently voted unopposed as the Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) recently in Abuja.

“According to sources, “The visit is to further strengthen the relationship between NSML and the Union  in the areas of the Union’s members who are Seafarers in the employ of the NSML in respect of their Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which will commence soon,”

Comrade Adeyanju who was delighted by the visit, explained issues of  importance to both parties to the NSML team.

Both parties however, agreed to keep the good relationship they have had since inception and promised each other of total transparency and mutual cooperation in all fronts towards striking a balanced success in the maritime sector and most pertinently the welfare of the seafarers and the Union in general.

Addressing the NSML delegation, Adeyanju said, ”The NSML boss and his team visit to the Union had shown that he’s indeed a Grassroots administrator of repute who has immensely transformed the NSML to standard”.

Impressed with the warm reception by the Maritime Workers Union members, the NSML boss, promised  to come to the table with issues of mutual benefit at all times and assured of maximum care for Seafarers in the NSML employ.

The Managing Director / CEO of the NSML Mr. Ahmed was accompanied on the visit by two of his management team,while the MWUN team comprised the President -General (PG) ,of the union comrade (Prince) Adewale Adeyanju and some of his national and branch executives comprising Comrades Francis Bunu ( DPG), Abudu Eroje (DSG Organising), Abubakar Bello ( VPG), Ohize ( President Dockworkers), Avoseh Sunday ( President Seafarers), Uche Igweonu ( National Treasurer), Edwin Sambo (DSG Admin), Ayokunle Ajayi ( General Secretary, Seafarers), and John Kennedy Ikemefuna ( Head, Media MWUN),others include,Comrade Oniha Erazua (DSG ) Ag. Secretary General.
