ORAKWUSI: Nigerian Shippers Council Doubly Hit, Devastated

“The ES/CEO is devastated, very pained and too shocked for words”

The Nigerian Shippers’ Council, NSC is one agency deeply hit and grotesquely affected by the sudden passing of Barrister Margaret Nkem Onyema-Oriakwusi’s, Chairman, Nigerian Fishing Trawlers Owners Association (NIFTOA). She also served the industry as   Chairman, Nigeria Maritime Exhibition and Conference (NIMAREX) and Board Member, Nigerian Shippers’ Council, NSC.

Coming a day after the Councli lost a level 14 officer of the at the Council’s office in Jos, the Executive Secretary of the NSC, Hon. Jime Emmanuel is so shocked and devastated to speak on the double tragedy.

Very reliable management sources at the Council told Maritime Nigeria, the entire management and staff of the Council are in deep mourning’

“We have been thrown into mourning at the Council, we lost a senior staff on the 27th of April. While we were yet to come to terms with the reality of the painful development, the news of the death of our Board member, Barrister Mrs. Margaret Orakwusi came like a tsunami on the 28th of same month”

“The ES/CEO is devastated, very pained and too shocked for words at this very trying time as we battle with the tragedies that have struck the Council”

Barr. Orakwusi was a mother, a strong pillar who lavished the Council with her decades of experiences in the industry.

We are sad, deeply saddened by these unfortunate departure by our staff and Board member, the NSC management staff said.
