CUSTOMS: Sokoto/Zamfara Command Collects N2.4b
As CAC Omale Assures Trade Facilitation
Following dogged determination and perseverance, the Customs Area Controller of the Sokoto/Zamfara Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, Comptroller Musa Omale Ph.D. and his officers and men have recorded unprecedented increase in the revenue profile of the Command.
A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSC Abdullahi Tsafe Abubakar, disclosed that
the CAC, since assumption of duty at the Command earlier this year has worked strategically in line with world Customs best practices that aided ease of doing business, trade facilitation, reduction of cargo clearance time and increase in revenue generation.
According to the Command’s PRO, the Revenue profile of the Command from January to June 2023, is two billion, four hundred and eighteen million, four hundred and seventy-seven thousand, forty-four naira (2,418,477,044), an increase of 25.6% when compared to one billion, nine hundred and twenty-six million, two hundred and sixty-five thousand, seven hundred and forty-nine naira (1,926,265,749) of revenue collected in 2022 under the same period.
“The Controller reiterates the Command’s commitment to sustain and improve upon revenue generation in the second half of 2023 as the CAC calls for the continuous cooperation of all stakeholders assuring them of the Command’s commitment to promote ease of doing business and trade facilitation within the jurisdiction of the Command” the PRO said.
