Nigeria To Support IMO On GHG, MEPC And Climate Change Issues
The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), has pledged to work with the International Maritime Organization (IMO), in addressing shipping issues and climate change challenges in the world.
Nigeria’s Permanent Representative at the IMO Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola led other Nigerian delegates to participate at the session, where Energy Efficiency of Ships, Ballast Water Management and other topical issues discussed and resolved
Tackling climate change, reducing Green House Gas, GHG, emissions from ships; as well as the adoption of the revised IMO GHG Strategy and Marine Environment Protection, were the focus at the just concluded 80th session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee, MEPC, of the International Maritime Organisation that took place in London recently.
Nigeria was a leading voice and contributor to discussions at the conference.
