TRANSITION: Ogbueshi Osamgbi Passes On

Family Release Burial Plans

Late Pa Ogbueshi Osamgbi

The Osamgbi family of Umu Nnikwu Village in Asaba Delta State, has announced the funeral arrangement of their Father and Diokpa Nnikwu, Ogbueshi Alexander Chukwuma Osamgbi.

The Late Ogbueshi Osamgbi, who passed on recently in Asaba at the glorious age of 96, will be buried on Friday July 28,2023 at Nnikwu Village, Umuaji Asaba, after a requiem Mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, West End, off Nnebisi Road, Asaba by 10am. This will be followed by a reception at the Dome Event Centre, Okpanam Road, GRA, Asaba.

Diokpa Osamgbi, is survived by many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, amongst whom are Mr. Isichei Osamgbi, Director of Special Duties at Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Mrs. Uzor Eluaka, Vice Principal, Zappa Basic Secondary School, Asaba, Lady Ndidi Okogba, of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Sir Peter Osamgbi, a businessman and Mrs. Eruke Omoyowuchowu Titiloye of the Coco Research Institute of Nigeria, (CRIN).

According to the family, preceding the burial is a vigil Mass which will hold in his honour on Thursday July 27th, 2023 at Catholic Church of The Assumption(Zappa), Umuagu, Asaba, while the final traditional rites commences on Sunday July 30th at Nnikwu, Umuaji, Asaba, after the Thanksgiving Mass at Church of The Assumption (Zappa).

Ogbueshi Osamgbi is a retired Civil Servant and community leader, who worked at various locations  the country. A devote Christian of the Catholic faith, he spent most of his time in charity work and service to his community to the admiration of all who knew him.

The management team of Maritime Nigeria prays for the repose of Pa Ogbueshi Osamgbi’s soul as we extend our condolences to the immediate and extended families of the late great grand Pa.
