“Talks about hitting the ground running are untrue”

By Kelvin Kagbare

“Our mission from day one has been rooted in a clear and inspiring vision, one that revolves around the principles of consolidation, collaboration, and innovative solutions. These principles have guided our actions and decisions, propelling us toward a future marked by excellence, efficiency, and effectiveness”– Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, Ag Comptroller General of Customs

The work done

The areas covered

The actions and undertakings

The collaborations sought/entered into

The handshakes and exchanges

The miniscule, if any briefing by officers

The journeys undertaken, the distance covered

The decisions made, depositions and cancellations

The dismantling and erection of new signposts of discipline and orderliness

The new code in arms handling

The reversal of the old order

The postings, deployments and reassignment

The visitations, consultations and assurances given/received

The confidence, trust, thrust, camaraderie, homeliness/familiarity/mastery

The bridges built, the fence mending, the ownership, the reassurances

The refreshing, soothing hope restored

The professionalism and impetus brought in points to a revival

The mission to consolidate positive legacies

The new policy thrust of Consolidation, Collaboration and Innovative Solutions

The introduction of cutting-edge solutions

The optimization and prioritization of officers’ welfare

The integration of data analytics into customs processes

The dexterity, resolve, commitment and purposefulness

The bond and oneness and unity of purpose in service

The milestones achieved

All testify to preparedness meeting with opportunity

Talks about hitting the ground running are untrue

The CGC started running before hitting the ground

Kudos to officers and men of the Service!

The first 100 days have been amazingly dazzling and exhilaratingly thrilling

Indeed “Great men are not born great, they grow great” Mario Puzo, in The Godfather
