ACG Saidu Yusuf takes Over  as Zonal Coordinator Zone A

By Patience Akpuru-Egwuwa

Encomiums have continued to pour in following the recent retirement of The Assistant Comptroller General, ACG, of Customs Zone ‘A’, Hammi Swomen.

The former ACG was honoured with a befitting retirement/handing over ceremony recently to commemorate his
outstanding career at the customs service.

Speaking during the event,  the Comptroller Revenue Zone ‘A’, Comptroller Oluremi Omisore extolled the virtues of the outgoing ZonalCoordinator, describing him as an excellent leader with many admirable characteristics.

During the handing over ceremony at the Zonal Headquarters in Ikeja, Controllers present showered glowing encomiums on the Zonal Coordinator; describing him as a man of few words and great wisdom; a thoroughbred
professional with a firm grasp of the workings of the Nigeria Customs Service.

He was also lauded for his gentlemanly qualities, noting that he comes across as a compassionate, fair-minded and compassionate leader.

In his response , the retiring ACG, expressed gratitude to God; the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR; his colleagues; the Management of Zone ‘A’; Heads of Units and officers of the Zonal Headquarters for their cooperation and support in making his stay in the Service worthwhile.

“I’m very emotional today. I’m happy and overwhelmed by the show of love I’ve experienced here today.”
He  implored the current Management  to mentor younger officers in order to bridge the generational gap in the Service.

The outgone ACG ended his speech by thanking everyone and prayed for God’s wisdom for the leadership of the Service to steer it in the right direction.

In his vote of thanks, the incoming Zonal Coordinator ‘A’, ACG Saidu Yusuf, eulogized his predecessor’s exceptional qualities, qualifying him as principled, hardworking and intelligent.

“Having worked closely with the retired ACG, I would describe him as hardworking and intelligent, a man who goes by the books. As he retires today, I pray for his good health, happiness and fulfillment of life,” Yusuf said
