“The vacuum he has left will be a yawning void for many years”

The management and staff of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, MAN, has described the sudden passing of Arch Ferdinand Agu, former Director General of the Defunct Nigerian Maritime Authority, NMA, which transmuted to the present day, Nigerian Maritime  Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, as a most unfortunate development which further deplete the human capital dependability of the industry.

A statement seen by our reporter quoted management of the Academy as deeply shocked and saddened by the unfortunate passing of the former Director General who visited the Academy to ascertain for himself the level of development and transformation at the school last year.

“Management, staff and Cadets of the Academy are shocked by the sudden passing of Arch Ferdinand Agu. He was a friend and companion to us at the Academy. His insights and contributions to the development of the Academy are invaluable and the vacuum he has left will be a yawning void for many years”

“Our condolences goes to the immediate family, maritime stakeholders and all Nigerians as a great citizens transits to eternal glory; the Almighty who governs the affairs of men cannot be questioned. We pray for the repose of his soul”, the statement signed by the Rector, said.
