Explains How Command generated N575.5bn in six month

Details of operational accomplishments at the Tin Can Island Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, may have been made known by the Customs Area Controller, CAC, of the Command, Comptroller Dera Nnadi, mni, notwithstanding, Maritime Nigeria crew sought deeper insight from the CAC when we engaged him in our One Question session. Speaking on Revenue, Enforcement and other areas, the Tin Can relentless Controller said:

“The N575.5 revenue we generated in the first half of the year is an improvement by N315.24 billion and represents a 221.13 per cent increase from the half year report in 2023 which had N260.26 billion.

“As at July 12, the command recorded N627 billion. With a target of N1.403 trillion, it implies that significant efforts have been made in the command in meeting the set target”

“Our services and operations are in line with the statutory functions of the Service in the areas of revenue generation, trade facilitation, enforcement and anti-smuggling activities”.

“We make sure that the command’s operations were performed in consciousness of the theme of the 2024 International Customs Day, ‘‘Customs Engaging Traditional and New Partners with Purpose”

“As I told your colleagues at MARAN, the command further enhanced the existing operational process to conform to the malady of the floating exchange rate regime with the use of technology made available by the NICIS II Software”

Let us look at your enforcement and Anti-Smuggling efforts within the first half of 2024, how has it been?
