CUSTOMS: Tin Can CAC Task Stakeholders On Compliance
Assures on Prioritizing and Resolving Issues
In furtherance of his vision and in order to actualize set objectives of the command, the Customs Area Controller, CAC, of the Tin Can Island Port Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, Comptroller Dera Nnadi, mni, continually engages and interact with customs agents and other traders who use the Command as transit route for their cargoes.
As the year enters its final quarter and with the Command’s 2024 operational theme as “Year of the Stakeholders”, the CAC has reiterated that the well-being of all who come to do business in the command is a priority to him, the Command and the Service.
Speaking during another engagement with stakeholders of the Command, he emphasized the need for compliance and unyielding effort by all to ensure that the Revenue target of the Command is achieved.
While empathizing with stakeholders for the expected year end activities and the struggles traders through during the ember season, the Controller reassured that genuine declarations from complaint traders will not be delayed.
“Those who think they can circumvent the system should have a rethink because cutting of corners will not be tolerated. We shall deal decisively with any infraction within the Command, the CAC said.
The Tin Can Controller informed agents that new bonded terminals domiciled in TCIP have spaces available for their businesses. He promised that he would look into making space available for traders within the Command operational center even as renovation works are ongoing in the premises.
He appealed to stakeholders to keep the environment clean pending when new bins will be distributed at designated areas to sustain a clean, healthy working environment for the Command,
