NPA, NLNG Partner to Grow Exports For Economic Development
The Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Abubakar Dantsoho, has reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas ( NLNG) to boost exports. Dantsoho made the pledge when he received the NLNG Chief Executive Officer Dr. Philip Mshelbila at the NPA’s headquarters in Lagos on Monday.
Addressing the NPA management team, Dr. Mshelbila expressed Nigeria LNG’s appreciation for NPA’s continued support and solicited increased synergy as NLNG Limited is expanding its LNG production capacity to take advantage of increased global demand.
Dr. Dantsoho assured NNLG management of NPA’s support, saying, “Imbued by the mandate of the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegoyega Oyetola for the NPA to support the increased export orientation of the Federal Government, we assure you of our unwavering support as NLNG has played a key role in Nigeria’s economic development and export growth since its inception; we will grow this partnership.”
Maritime Nigeria recalls that Nigeria’s attainment of a trade surplus of 5.81 trillion naira (or 3.7 Billion USD) in the third quarter of 2024 as reported by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) foreign trade alert was through exports predominantly consummated on the platforms of the Nigerian Ports Authority.
