Rallies Agencies for Synergy

The Customs Area Controller, CAC, of the  Tin can Island Port Command Comptroller Frank Onyeka has said that to achieve a safe and prosperous nation, all security agencies in the Country must prioritise National Security and reinforce collaboration among themselves.

According to the Public Relations Officer,  PRO, of the Command,  Oscar Enya Ivara the Tin Can CAC, made the statement while receiving the Commanding Officer,   Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base Badagry, Navy Captain Omotayo Busuyi Oyeleye in his office.

Controller Onyeka noted that beyond the core functions of revenue generation, trade facilitation and suppression of smuggling activities, Tincan Island Port Command also aims to build a strong and formidable synergy with all security agencies in order to deter criminal elements from perpetuating their nefarious activities through the Seaport, describing such actions as detrimental to national development.

The CAC lauded the efforts of the Nigerian Navy for providing adequate maritime security against sea robberies and other crimes.

The Commanding Officer commended the Nigeria Customs Service for always rising to the occasion of joint patrol, disclosing that such input by the service has always been pivotal to the success of joint operations.

In a related development, Comptroller Onyeka paid a familiarization visit to the Controllers of the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Services, PTML and Tin can Island Commands.

According to Ivara; during the visit which was held at the Quarantine office in Tincan, Controller Onyeka reassured the agency of continued collaboration and expressed his commitment to integrating the Quarantine Service into the Command’s activities for better synergy.
