“We are Alert, Watching, Taking Notes and Keeping Records”-AIG Maritime

Charge Maritime Stakeholders to be Law Abiding
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Nigeria’s Maritime Police Command, Lagos, AIG Musa Yusuf Garba, psc(+), IIPS, PSPS, has reiterated that the Command is very alert and alive to its statutory responsibilities in the protection of life and property including critical infrastructure and investments-foreign and local.
In a chat with our reporter, the Maritime Police Boss appealed to all maritime stakeholders to be law abiding and orderly as they go about their daily businesses around the sea ports and terminals.
In a stern and no-nonsense voice, the AIG warned that officers and men of the Command have orders to apprehend and deal with unruly persons who prefer to foment trouble instead of going about their duties peacefully.
“We are very much on ground. We are aware of all that is going on within the ports and the surrounding vicinities; we are watching, taking notes, profiling and keeping records. Anyone who thinks we are blind to their moves should heed our advise to desist from trouble or be prepared to face full wrath of the law”
“Law abiding citizens have nothing to worry about but those who think they can get away if they breach the peace of the business environment have another thing coming at them as our men are everywhere closely monitoring all that is happening”
The AIG declared that in this modern age and time, the Police is closer than you can ever imagine as the level of collaboration between the Police and other Security Agencies has been strengthened through enhanced collaboration between all security agencies.
According to AIG Musa Yusuf Garba,” I have said before and i will say it again for emphasis that Security is the responsibility of all citizens. We as security officers in the Police Force, Army, Navy, Customs and other agencies work closely together in our operations. We share intelligence, we compare notes and cross check facts. No Security agency works alone, we have a country and citizens to protect and that is a responsibility which we do not take lightly”
“The Inspector General of Police is very concerned and committed to providing the leadership and all that is required to ensure that businesses thrive under peaceful conditions while citizens go about their daily activities unmolested” the AIG said.
