Following many years of contributions in diverse areas visavis job creation, training, nurturing of Cadets, award of scholarships, advocacy and the pursuit of truth  by the Ogbeifun dynasty-a household name in Nigeria’s maritime industry, the Federal government of Nigeria has deemed it fit to bring the family closer into the governance structure by appointing Iroghama Ogbeifun as a board member of the Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA.

Father and Daughter at the 2024 National Discourse with Distinguished Maritime Personalities, DMPs.

Celebrating the appointment, the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA),  has congratulated Ms. Iroghama Ogbeifun, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Starzs Investments Company Limited, on her appointment.

WISTA, President, Dr. Odunayo Ani, described the  appointment as  recognition of Iroghama’s qualities as a maritime employer of labour, technocrat and contributor to the development of the sector.

President, Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) Nigeria, Dr. (Mrs.) Odunayo Ani described Iroghama as a prominent and active member of WISTA Nigeria, who  has consistently demonstrated her commitment to the growth and development of the sector—serving as a panelist at key industry events, sharing her knowledge and experience, and providing consistent support to the association both financially and otherwise.

“We are immensely proud of Ms. Ogbeifun’s achievements and her unwavering support for WISTA Nigeria and  shipping development in Nigeria over the years,” Dr. Ani said.

It could be recalled that Maritime Nigeria, a prominent maritime News Media, honoured Iroghama Ogbeifun as a Distinguished Maritime Personality, DMP in recognition of her support for and contributions to maritime growth in Nigeria.

Evidently, the Ogbeifuns should be very proud that Engr. Greg Ogbeifun’s efforts are gradually being further recognized and appreciated by the government and people of Nigeria!

While we join maritime stakeholders in congratulating the Ogbeifun family, we urge that this opportunity be utilized for the good of the industry in particular and the the country in its entirety
