RENEWABLE ENERGY: Nigeria Exports Solar Panels Abroad

In a historic breakthrough for Nigeria’s renewable energy drive, Levene Photovoltaic Technologies, in partnership with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), has successfully exported locally manufactured solar panels to Accra, Ghana.
This first-ever export of Nigeria-made solar panels signals a major leap in the country’s clean energy journey, proving its readiness to compete regionally and globally in renewable energy technology.
The achievement comes on the heels of the Tinubu administration’s push to end over dependence on imported solar solutions, while aggressively boosting Nigeria’s production capacity. In just a short span, the country’s solar PV manufacturing output has soared from 120MW to an impressive 650MW.
According to the REA, the milestone is a testament to Nigeria’s ability to not only meet local energy needs but also supply sustainable solutions across Africa.
Experts say this move will strengthen Nigeria’s role in the global clean energy market, create jobs, and promote inclusive economic growth.
With this bold step, Nigeria is no longer just a consumer of solar technology it has become a regional exporter and a rising clean energy powerhouse.
