Crude Oil Theft, TANTITA, National Economy and the “Piss Waka” Propagandists

“The world is searching for energy security, and Nigeria must present itself as a credible alternative. We cannot afford internal sabotage. Our message is clear: Nigeria is securing its assets, stabilizing production and remains open for business” Abbas Tajudeen, Speaker, House of Representatives, Nigeria
Let me quickly clarify the “Piss Waka” allegory as used in the Niger Delta. The parlance typifies urinating in motion as opposed to standing still and peeing in one place where even the ants and other insects gather to feast on the waste; the more the sugar content in the urine so discharged, the bigger the feast!
Those who piss waka are those who are so stingy that they deprive creatures who depend on their wastes to go hungry or starve to death, not minding their services to humanity and their naturally assigned responsibilities in balancing the affairs of nature-such is the character of persons calling for the revocation of the TANTITA pipeline protection contract.
If they cannot have it, nobody should-it must be scattered, dispersed and annihilated.
The Management and staff of Tantita Security Services Ltd, TSSL, have demonstrated their willingness to share and show love to communities in their areas of operations through their integrated Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR-evidences abound.
The People of Nigeria, speaking through their respective representatives at the National Assembly; a combined seating of the House of Representatives and Senate, reaffirmed their support for and bond with TANTITA when they unanimously said NO to either splitting or cancellation of the Pipeline Protection Contract which the Federal Government saddled Tantita with over three years ago.

Capt. Warredi Enisuoh, Executive Director, Operations and Technical Services, Tantita Security Services Ltd speaking at a public forum.
Few months after the award of the contract, Nigeria’s declining crude oil output and the then bludgeoning crude oil theft saw steady rise in crude production and sharp reduction in the wanton thievery of the country’s crude.
Environmental degradation and uncontrollable oils spillages which had sacked many coastal communities in the Niger Delta also witnessed respite as TANTITA deployed its expertise and capabilities in curtailing the many pains and agony wrought by crude oil exploration and production operations.
Chairman of the House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Midstream), Henry Okojie, said the surveillance arrangement had greatly improved the protection of oil infrastructure. He noted that Nigeria’s crude oil output has risen to about 1.8 million barrels per day as of April 2026, compared to 900,000 barrels per day in 2022 before the contract was introduced.
On his part, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, was emphatic on the importance of securing and enhancing Nigeria’s oil assets in the wake of global hostilities, energy crisis, and unrests. The Speaker reiterated the global dependence on crude oil and its derivatives in powering homes, industries and automobiles not leaving out how much ships need oil to meet global demands/supplies.
Tajudeen narrated how environmental degradation, hopelessness and lose of farmland and fishing waters to pollution led to agitations by people of the Niger Delta; pipeline vandalism, crude siphoning/theft not to mention kidnappings and loss of lives leading to huge financial loses in billions of dollars by Nigeria..
Presentation by Dr. Captain Warredi Enisouh, Tantita’s Executive Director of Technical Services and Operations, showed that crude oil production, which had fallen to about 1.33 million barrels per day in 2022, has steadily climbed since Tantita took over surveillance. By 2025, production averaged 1.64 million barrels per day, with cumulative savings estimated at $11.52 billion.
Warredi attributed the turnaround to Tantita’s “carrot-and-stick” strategy, which combined community engagement with strict enforcement. He added that thousands of Niger Delta youths have been employed under the program, providing legitimate alternatives to crime and pipeline vandalization.
To effectively and professionally carry out the national assignment assigned it, Tantita has partnered with local experts with proven integrity and is collaborating with global manufacturers, such as Textron (USA) and Yangda , to acquire specialized drones with infrared detection capabilities. These drones now provide real-time monitoring of pipelines and refineries, enabling detection of illegal activities even at night.
Lawmakers hailed the surveillance contract as a model of accountability and innovation. They noted that it has dismantled illegal tapping points, improved transparency in oil receipts, and restored confidence in Nigeria’s ability to remain a reliable oil producer.
Specifically, Tantita’s operations, alongside NNPC and security agencies, have been credited with stabilizing revenues and positioning Nigeria to meet President Tinubu’s 2026 budget target of 2 million barrels per day.
The gains to the people and country from the TANTITA contract are many. While revenue has been boosted, employment has also been created for the youth, men and women of communities hosting pipelines and oil wells.
Nigeria’s oil output has surged to 1.8 million barrels per day, up from about 900,000 barrels per day in 2022 when the surveillance arrangement was introduced. Okojie noted that records show significant progress in curbing vandalism, dismantling illegal tapping points, and boosting crude deliveries to export terminals.
That none of those calling for the fragmentation of the contract ( the piss waka propagandists) or outright cancellation did not appear at the public hearing to explain their position is clear evidence that they are very unserious, jobless and lacking any pedigree, integrity or expertise in such technical matter of pipeline protection.
Pipeline protection is a highly technical and very demanding job which many are unfamiliar with. That TANTITA is succeeding and having results to show demonstrates their competency level and preparedness to deliver.
We urge the “Piss Wakaf theorists to show their skill in other areas such crude refining or petrochemical engineering to save Nigeria the huge forex spent in importing refined petroleum products-the government and people of Nigeria will support them in such noble enterprise.
