In bid to foster synergy, enhance operational capabilities and ensure safety of oil and gas installations as well as effectively protect pipelines and halt crude theft in Nigeria, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, TSSL, has officially handed over 15 newly procured gun boats to the Nigerian Armed Forces.

TSSL is a private security company headquartered in Effurun, Delta State, specializing in protecting Nigeria’s vital oil and gas infrastructure through pipeline protection, paramilitary escort, and advanced surveillance operations.

The company handed over the boats at the Nigerian Navy Boatyard in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
Tantita gave seven gun boats to the Nigeria Army while the Nigerian Navy got eight to further enhance their patrol and interdiction operations.

A top official of the company told our reporter that “The vessels are expected to enhance joint operations against oil theft, piracy, and other maritime crimes in the Niger Delta and coastal waters”
The event featured military officials, representatives of Tantita Security Services, and dignitaries from within and outside Rivers State.
The commissioning of the patrol boats underscores the importance of public-private collaboration in safeguarding Nigeria’s waterways.
Officials emphasized that the deployment of the gun boats will strengthen surveillance, rapid response and deterrence against criminal activities threatening national economic assets.
Nigeria’s maritime domain has long been vulnerable to illegal bunkering, smuggling and piracy which Tantita frown at and work against.
With the supply and equipping of the Army and Navy with modern gun boats, Tantita amplifies its preparedness to reinforce the military’s operational efficiency and ensure safer navigation for commercial and civilian vessels.
Evidently, Tantita’s commitment to ensuring oil and gas infrastructure and protection of pipeline installations is not in doubt as the people and government of Nigeria continues to show support for and solidarity with the company.
