AIG MUSA YUSUF GARBA PLAY HOST TO APFFLON, Celebrates Easter, Calls For Vigilance

The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the Maritime Police Command, AIG Musa Yusuf Garba, psc(+), IIPS, PSPS, recently hosted executives of the Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria (APFFLON) at the Maritime Police Command Headquarters in Lagos.

 

A statement   by Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO,   Asp Adebayo Rasheed, of the Command, disclosed that the APFFLON  delegation was led by it President,  Otunba Frank Ogunojemite, who told the AIG that  the visit was aimed at strengthening the long-standing relationship between the association and the Maritime Police Command and to  familiarize themselves with the current leadership and direction of the Command.

Otunba Ogunojemite acknowledged the key role the Maritime Police Command played during APFFLON’s early days. He also stressed the need for continued partnership, while noting that the maritime sector is highly specialized and requires officers who are equipped with requisite knowledge and abilities to effectively maintain law and order within the Command’s Areas of Responsibility.

 

AIG Musa Yusuf Garba psc(+), IIPS, PSPS assured APFFLON of the Command’s unwavering support and commitment to professionalism and  underscored the importance of effective prosecution of offenders within the maritime sector as a deterrent to others seeking to undermine Nigeria’s economic security.

The AIG  reiterated the command’s readiness to collaborate with sister agencies and maritime associations to ensure safety, security, and economic growth within the maritime domain.

Easter Celebration

In a related development, AIG AIG Musa Yusuf Garba,  the AIG on behalf of the officers and men of the Command, extends warm Easter greetings to all maritime stakeholders, the business community, and especially Christian faithfuls across Nigeria.

As the Easter festivities unfold, AIG Garba reassures the public of robust security arrangements across the maritime domain.

The AIG assured  that adequate human, material, and operational assets have been strategically deployed to ensure full coverage and safety on Nigeria’s inland waterways throughout and beyond the holiday season and encouraged all citizens to celebrate responsibly, urging them to remain law-abiding and security-conscious.

While  appealing  to the public and media professionals to avoid the spread of misinformation, he emphasized the importance of credible information in supporting public safety and national security and reiterated the Maritime Police Command remains committed to ensuring the safety of lives, property, and maritime operations during festive seasons and always.
