The Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), in demonstration and enforcement its regulatory role in Nigeria’s maritime industry has timely resolved operational issues between the Sifax Group and AGL Logistics over the berthing of an AGL-operated vessel.

 

The Council’s timely intervention reinforces  its commitment to ensuring seamless port operations,  trade facilitation, and its efforts in ensuring industrial harmony within the maritime sector.

Addressing Sifax and AGL delegates during the peace meeting, the NSC emphasized the importance of optimal utilization of terminal facilities, stressing that efficient coordination among operators remains critical to improving port efficiency and safeguarding Nigeria’s maritime reputation.

participants at the meeting stressed the need for deeper cooperation and  collaboration among stakeholders to sidestep operational hurdles which  could undermine the ease of doing business at the  seaports.

The Council’s resolution of the disagreement has further reassured maritime of the NSC’s commitment in addressing port related matters to avoid disruption of port operation throughout the country as Sifax and AGL management reached agreement on operational modalities.

 

Both parties thanked the Council for its prompt intervention as they commend the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Council, Dr. Pius Akutah for the  Council’s proactive  role in stabilizing port operations and ensuring industrial peace.
